Erbium laser

A very effective solution for removal of beauty spots

The Erbium laser works much in the same way as the C02 laser. The main difference is the amount of heat they generate. Since the Erbium laser generates less heat, it does not penetrate as deeply into the dermis. With extreme precision, Erbium laser can remove damaged skin from the epidermis or from the more superficial dermis. The production of new collagen can then allow for skin renewal.

It is mostly used as a complement to surgery or other laser interventions that seek to lessen superficial or moderate wrinkles or to make scars disappear.

It can also be used to treat certain types of skin lesions and rejuvenate sun-damaged skin.

What does the treatment involve?

Done under local anesthesia, the Erbium laser treatment will necessitate bandaging for 2 to 3 days. Once the bandage has been removed, application of Vaseline and wet compresses will be necessary for 5 to 7 days.

Length of treatment: a few minutes only

Frequency: 1 to 2 treatments, depending on the condition being treated

Recuperation: The procedure may necessitate some time off from daily activities while the skin regenerates.

Labial herpes medication must be taken 24 hours before the procedure and then during the healing period that can last between 7 and 10 days.

Are there side effects?

Erbium laser treatment may produce some swelling for a period of 24 hours, and redness for many weeks. Direct contact with the sun is to be avoided and the use sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) is recommended for several months following the procedure. After 10 to 14 days, once the skin has regenerated, a special make-up can be applied to mask any redness. Typically, the skin will regain its natural colour in 2 to 8 weeks.

What kind of results can I expect?

Erbium laser treatment yields immediate results and, because it stimulates new collagen for roughly 6 months, has lasting effects. So you look younger with every passing day and your secret is never revealed!
